Our Founder's Story

Two By Two Ministry wasn't born from a business plan. It was born from walking through life's hardest seasons and discovering that no one should have to face them alone.

Over the past several years, our family has experienced both incredible joy and profound heartache. My wife, Julie, lost her first husband to melanoma in April 2021. Just a few months later, she lost her mother to cancer. Together we are raising a blended family of five children, including a son whose special needs have taught us lessons about compassion, perseverance, and the importance of a community that shows up.

I've also faced significant health challenges of my own. During those difficult seasons, I experienced firsthand how much it means when someone simply checks in, listens, prays, or walks beside you.

Overtime, God began changing my perspective. During a sermon series on serving at Asbury Church, I found myself thinking more deeply about what it means to love our neighbors in practical ways. Although I didn't realize it at the time, God was planting a seed that would continue growing long after the series ended.

Several weeks later, I was talking with my father-in-law about his Sunday school class at his church in Brentwood, Tennessee. As he described how members regularly went out two by two to help widows with small home repairs and practical needs, his excitement was unmistakable. Listening to him, something clicked.

I was immediately reminded of Jesus' words in Luke 10:1:

"After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him…"

That conversation stayed with me. I couldn't stop thinking about it. I began asking a simple question:

What if every church had people ready to walk alongside those experiencing grief, illness, disability, or other difficult seasons of life?

That question became the beginning of the vision for Two By Two Ministry.

Not just to offer a meal. Not just to say a prayer. But to build genuine relationships with people navigating grief, illness, disability, loneliness, caregiving, and life's unexpected hardships.

Out of that vision, Two By Two Ministry took shape. Our mission is simple: no one should walk alone. We believe God created the Church to be more than a place people attend on Sundays. We believe it is a family that carries one another's burdens, celebrates together, grieves together, and walks together.

Two By Two Ministry exists to help make those connections possible — one relationship, one family, and one community at a time. We would be honored to walk alongside you.
